Job Description
Marine Environment Researcher Internship at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru & Dhawa Ihuru
Role:
- Support coral reef restoration methods and coral nursery maintenance, assist with reef monitoring and marine biodiversity surveys, assist with photo documentation and species identification, conduct aquarium maintenance and coral husbandry
- Lead guest activities (Citizen snorkeling, Guided snorkeling, Night Snorkeling etc.)
- Assist in scientific data collection, entry and analysis
- Aid in other logistical tasks such as data logging, record keeping, inventories and report preparation
- Conduct educational presentations to guests, students and associates
- Support sustainability initiatives across the property
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Marine Biology/Marine Science or Related field
- Current Dive Certification (Minimum Advanced Open Water Diver)
- DAN Insurance Coverage
- Owns own equipment (BCD, Regs, Mask & Fins)
- Knowledge of reefs habitats and tropical ecosystems
