Extruder and Cutting Machine Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and carry out maintenance of extrusion and cutting machines used in the production process.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize machine downtime.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Conduct machine setup, alignment, calibration, and operational testing.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all extruder heaters, temperature controllers, gearboxes, motors, drives, and cutting units are functioning properly.
- Maintain maintenance records, machine history cards, and spare parts inventories.
- Coordinate with the Production Department to ensure smooth production operations.
- Train and guide machine operators on basic machine care and safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and housekeeping requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma, NVQ qualification, or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in maintenance of extrusion and cutting machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet production requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
