Staff Assistant – Transaction Monitoring Branch Network Support Services
The Job Holder will report to the Senior Manager – Branch Network Support Services. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of an effective, risk-based, and regulatory-compliant transaction monitoring framework capable of identifying unusual, suspicious, complex, high-risk, or potentially money laundering and terrorist financing-related transactions in a timely manner.
Role Profile
The Job Holder will report to the Senior Manager – Branch Network Support Services. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of an effective, risk-based, and regulatory-compliant transaction monitoring framework capable of identifying unusual, suspicious, complex, high-risk, or potentially money laundering and terrorist financing-related transactions in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable AML/CFT laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Review transaction monitoring alerts in line with customer profiles and transaction patterns.
- Escalate unusual or suspicious transactions promptly to the relevant authorities within the organization.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Independently review and discount transaction monitoring alerts while maintaining effective oversight of AML/CFT controls and monitoring activities.
- Complete assigned tasks within stipulated timelines and consistently meet departmental deadlines.
- Provide support to other functions and departments as required.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in banking, finance, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- Professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Marketing, or part qualification from a recognized professional body (IBSL, CIM, CA, or CMA qualifications will be an added advantage).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer relationship management abilities.
- Sound knowledge of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations.
- Good understanding of the regulatory framework governing Licensed Finance Companies (LFCs).
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
