VACANCY - MECHANICAL DRAFTER
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanical Drafter to join our CIDA EM1 registered engineering company.

Schaubup Technik Pvt Ltd is a EM1 graded company, in category of Heavy Steel Fabrications. We are specialized in Turnkey Projects, linear production of steel fabrications, machinery and equipment maintenance, Steel formworks structures, Silos, Conveyors, Hydro mechanical components.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Mechanical Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo. The position is responsible for preparing mechanical drawings.
DAY-TO-DAY TASKS
This includes creating and updating technical and engineering drawings, using CAD software to develop 2D drawings, CAM software for 3D modelling.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of Design Engineering principles and basic mechanical components, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Relevant technical qualification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Drafting, or a related field.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with Design Engineers, Workshop managers and stakeholders.
- Trainees are encouraged to apply.
- 1 year experience preferred.
- Sound knowledge on piping, steel structures, and electromechanical machines and components is an advantage.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D)
- Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards and GD&T
- Ability to work with Design Engineers and follow project specifications
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge in sheet metal, welding symbols and machining is an advantage
WORKING HOURS
Monday – Friday: 8.00 AM – 5.00 PM
Saturday: 8.00 AM – 1.00 PM

Bakery Junction, Attidiya, Mount Lavinia (Fabrication Yard at Bakery Junction)
WHAT WE OFFER
- We offer a Salary package ranging from 55,000 – 85,000 based on your experience.
- We prefer someone nearby Dehiwala Ratmalana area.
- Our Fabrication yard is located in Bakery junction, Attidiya.
- Public buses and trains are accessible within few meters.
- We provide meals (breakfast, lunch) if required.
- Working hours are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and 8.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays.
- You will be working alongside Design engineers for your professional growth.
- We use mainly AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS software.
