TRADE MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.

The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Trade Marketing Executive. The position exists to assist in creation of well researched Sales, Brand and Channel initiatives that achieve overall volume & financial results of the category. Work closely with Sales & Marketing Team and assist in developing & lead execution of fully integrated, consumer, shopper and customer / channel insights-based brand / category solutions and activities for customers / channels.

The selected candidates will be responsible for:

  • Drive channel performance across assigned territories by supporting sales growth, outlet penetration, numeric distribution, visibility, availability, and promotional execution.
  • Execute trade marketing strategies and channel plans at field level in line with business priorities, brand objectives, and sales targets.
  • Work closely with area sales teams, distributors, and company sales representatives to ensure effective implementation of trade promotions, consumer promotions, visibility drives, and outlet development initiatives.
  • Monitor outlet-level execution, including product availability, merchandising standards, POSM deployment, cooler placement, displays, pricing, and competitor activity.
  • Track and report channel performance, campaign execution, market feedback, sales trends, outlet coverage, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Support the rollout of new product launches by coordinating field execution, trade communication, outlet branding, sampling, and activation support.
  • Identify market opportunities, execution gaps, competitor movements, and trade issues, and recommend practical solutions to improve performance.
  • Ensure that all trade marketing activities are executed on time, within budget, and in line with company standards and brand guidelines.
  • Build strong working relationships with distributors, key outlets, retailers, HORECA partners, and sales teams to improve execution and trade engagement.
  • This is a field-based role that requires frequent market visits to monitor trade conditions, ensure execution excellence, and support the achievement of monthly and quarterly channel objectives.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Business Management, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in trade marketing, channel marketing, field sales, sales operations, or market activation, preferably in FMCG or beverages.
  • Strong understanding of Sri Lankan trade channels, including general trade, modern trade, HORECA, distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets.
  • Ability to analyse channel performance, sales data, outlet execution, and market trends.
  • Excellent field execution, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work closely with sales teams, distributors, and trade partners.
  • Good knowledge of POSM execution, merchandising, outlet development, and promotional implementation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and basic reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.

Remuneration for the above position will be in accordance with the JKH Compensation and Benefits Policy.
