We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and dynamic individual to provide leadership for our Sustainability, Livelihoods and Youth Engagement programs.
1. Project Coordinator – Building Sustainability, Livelihoods and Youth Engagement
Job Summary: Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of community development projects focused on sustainable livelihoods, youth empowerment, climate resilience, education, and community engagement. The role requires strong project management skills, stakeholder coordination, and field leadership to ensure quality implementation and achievement of project outcomes in compliance with donor and organizational requirements. Position will be based in the CDF Office in Trincomalee and reasonable travel to the field within the district and out of the district.
Eligibility: This position is open only for internal candidates; those who are currently working with CDF or whose contract ended with CDF within last 6 months.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Environmental Management, Community Development, Youth Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree or professional qualification in Project Management or Development Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project management and community development.
- Demonstrated experience in livelihood development, youth empowerment, climate resilience, sustainability, or community-based development projects.
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, donor-funded projects, or development agencies, and coordinating with government institutions and private sector entities.
- Proven experience in staff supervision and stakeholder engagement, with knowledge of results-based and project cycle management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital project management tools.
- Fluency in Tamil and working knowledge of Sinhala is essential; good working knowledge of English.
Job Role
- Lead the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved project documents, budgets, work plans, and donor requirements.
- Coordinate livelihood development, youth engagement, sustainability, climate resilience, and community development initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, community-based organizations, private sector partners, schools, and youth groups.
- Promote meaningful youth participation in project planning, implementation, and monitoring; facilitate youth leadership and entrepreneurship initiatives.
- Ensure timely collection, verification, and analysis of project data; prepare high-quality monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports.
- Supervise project staff, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and community stakeholders.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring; ensure efficient utilization of resources and compliance with donor requirements.
- Promote and uphold organizational safeguarding policies and procedures; identify project risks and develop mitigation measures.
- Support emergency response and recovery activities when required.
Contract Duration: Fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and project funding availability.
