Vacancy
We are looking for a responsible, reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Driver.
1. Driver
Job Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely and efficient transportation of staff, visitors, project materials and equipment in support of CDF's field and office operations. The role requires a strong safety record, sound vehicle-care habits, punctuality and the ability to travel extensively within and outside Trincomalee district, including to remote project locations.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) qualification or equivalent.
- Valid and clean Sri Lankan driving license (light vehicle; heavy/dual license an added advantage) issued by the Department of Motor Traffic.
- Minimum 5 years of proven, accident-free driving experience; experience with an NGO/INGO or similar organization is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of roads and routes within Trincomalee district and surrounding areas.
- Basic vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting and cleanliness skills.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
- Good communication skills in Tamil; working knowledge of Sinhala and/or English is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, when required.
Job Role
- Drive organizational vehicles safely for staff, visitors and project-related transportation needs.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage records and fuel consumption reports.
- Ensure regular vehicle servicing, cleanliness and roadworthiness at all times.
- Promptly report mechanical issues and coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure strict compliance with traffic laws, road safety standards and organizational transport policies.
- Maintain valid vehicle documentation, including insurance, revenue license and emission test certificates.
- Assist with the loading, unloading and safe transport of project materials and equipment.
- Ensure the safety and security of passengers and goods during all trips.
- Support logistics and procurement-related transport arrangements as required.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and courteous conduct at all times.
Contract Duration
Fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and organizational requirements.
