What you need to do
- Coordinate and conduct quality testing on food products, ingredients and surfaces within food areas, including testing for pathogens.
- Conduct food safety audits, hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify potential microbial hazards in the food production process and evaluate factors such as raw material quality, processing methods, storage conditions and the selling process to assess the likelihood of microbial contamination and determine appropriate control measures to mitigate these risks.
- In the event of a food safety incident or microbial contamination outbreak, investigate the cause of the contamination, identify the source and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Based on audit findings, microbial testing and risk assessments, work with stakeholders to develop and implement food safety protocols and procedures, which may include establishing sanitation practices, hygiene protocols for employees, temperature controls and microbial monitoring programs to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
What we are looking for
- Should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Food Safety, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or a related field with understanding of food safety principles, microbiology, chemistry, and food processing techniques.
- Diploma or Relevant certifications to demonstrate expertise and commitment to maintaining high standards will be an added advantage.
- Minimum one years' work experience in Food Safety or Quality Management Systems in the food service sector.
- Good understanding regarding best practices in retail operations.
- Knowledge on pest control practices.
- Computer literacy.
