Ministry of Crab (MOC), an award-winning restaurant, one of the most sought-after in the country, is looking to bring Waiters into our team. You will be working alongside an excellent team to help ensure our customers receive the best possible experience at our restaurant. You'll be taking orders and passing them onto our kitchen staff, as well as delivering delicious meals to our customers. Handling cash and card transactions, as well as tidying tables will be part of your role too, so being open to variety is essential!
You'll be joining our team at an exciting time, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow!
Role and responsibilities:
- Welcomes customers when they arrive at a restaurant.
- Introduces customers to the menu and announces daily or seasonal menu specials.
- Answers questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing.
- Takes customers' orders for food and drink by writing them on a ticket, entering them into a tablet, or memorizing them.
Passes customer orders along to kitchen staff for preparation.
Prepares drinks and serves them to customers.
- Collects food orders from the kitchen, verifies that they are correct, and serves them to customers.
- Ensures that customers are satisfied with their meals and processes orders for additional courses if necessary.
- Removes used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables.
- Prepares cheques and delivers them to customers.
- Processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers as appropriate.
- Sets tables with dishes, glasses, and flatware and refills condiments.
- Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information.
- Meets with Team Leads/Managers and learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Proven experience working with food and beverages is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence with handling cash and electronic transactions.
- Basic mathematic skills.
- Great time management and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of food and beverage safety is a plusAbility to work on your feet for extended periods.
