We are on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Executive - Purchasing who specializes in the tea industry. In this pivotal role, you will manage and optimize our material purchasing strategies, ensuring quality, cost- efficiency, and alignment with our production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies specific to the tea industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with material suppliers ensure the supply of premium quality materials related to tea industry.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers while ensuring the cost-effectiveness and quality of products.
- Stay updated with market trends and tea industry insights to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to align purchasing with production requirements and quality standards.
- Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including supplier evaluations, order tracking, and cost analyses.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing within the tea industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the tea industry and supplier landscape.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and SinhalaAdditional language skills are a plus.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications and purchasing software.
- Ability to work strategically under pressure and meet deadlines.
