We are searching for a dedicated, highly motivated candidate to join the Foundation's team as the Plastics Value Chain Coordinator in a USAID funded project entitled the Sri Lanka & Maldives Ocean Plastic Reduction Activity where the Foundation is a sub-contractor to Research Triangle Institute (RTI). This project aims to minimize ocean plastics pollution in Sri Lanka and the Maldives by reducing reliance on plastic products while improving integrated solid waste management (SWM) practices.
The Plastics Value Chain Coordinator will report directly to The Asia Foundation's Project Director, Strengthening Governance Program (SGP) at an institutional level, and be responsible to the Chief of Party of the Ocean Plastics Reduction Activity on day-to-day functional activities. The position is primarily related to program management and technical assistance in specific subject area of the value chain of plastics and would call for careful time management and effective coordination.
Support implement activities under the Ocean Plastics Reduction Activity, mainly to reduce virgin plastics inputs and products through 3Rs and extended producer responsibility (EPR) initiatives.
Close collaboration and support to team members in the implementation of the program activities.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated experience in solid waste management (minimum of seven years) including working directly with local government authorities and other key stakeholders associated with the local government authorities (LGA).
