Position: Field Officer (Agriculture Project for livelihood)
Work Station (Office): Vavuniya
Working Location: Manthai East, Thunukkai, Olimadu area (Mullaitivu)
Contract period: Till 31st March 2025 (with 2 months' probation/ contract period may be extended)

Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) is a Japanese non-governmental organization undertaking humanitarian operations across the world. In Sri Lanka, PWJ has been implementing various kinds of resettlement assistance and development projects in the Eastern and Northern parts of the country since 2009.
Principal responsibilities:
To implementation and monitoring of the agriculture-based livelihood project in Mullaitive District within the project period.
Tasks in details:
To visit project sites and communities often to monitor the project and report progress his/her supervisors
To identify issues that happen in daily operation at the project sites and report to his/her supervisors To support communication between other Peace Winds Japan staff and beneficiaries
To make necessary coordination with relevant stakeholders such as communities, government institutions, business partners, and others
To carry out any required tasks in the field and the office in consultation with his/her supervisors To assist in translation and facilitate communication between the international staff and communities of the project sites.
Knowledge, experience, and skills required:
More than five (5) years of working experience in relevant field (NGO).
Degree/Diploma holders in Agriculture or Social Science relevant field (A-level with more than 5 years of related work experience will be considered)
Fluent in oral and written Fluency in Tamil and English, fluent in oral in Sinhala. Excellent communication skills to work with local partners and international staff Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail and Google Spreadsheet)
Honest, patient, responsible and in good physical condition to meet the job demands
In a good physical condition to meet the job demands.
Strong motivation to work for community development in Mullaitivu District.
Willingness to follow Peace Winds Japan's missions and regulations
Knowledge, experience, and skills preferable:
Field experience in livelihood programme, especially related to agriculture, dairy farming and monitoring & evaluation, will be strong advantages.
Direct supervisor: Programme Officer / Project Manager
Working hours:
Standard working hours according to Peace Winds Japan regulations
A reasonable degree of flexibility is expected when and where required
