Responsibilities

  • All kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards, training of employees, plate presentation, portioning, cost control, and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the hotel's recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction. Monitoring inventory levels, minimizing waste, and controlling food costs.
  • Creating, innovating, and developing new and unique culinary creations that complement the concept of the hotel.
  • Playing an active part in the management team of the hotel, through operational management and contribution at key meetings.
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff while providing guidance and mentoring to foster professional growth and maintain a positive work environment. Maintaining quality standards on Good Manufacturing practice and good hygiene practices.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a luxury resort or luxury boutique hotel.
  • A qualification in the Fine Culinary Arts from a recognized institute.
  • Extensive knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest quality in food preparation, plating, and presentation. In-depth knowledge of costing, menu planning, and menu creation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
