The Person We Are Looking For..

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person of good character with Professional qualifications, ethics and with outstanding communication skills for the post of Procurement Supervisor. The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Manager - Procurement & Shipping and be responsible for tasks optimizing the productivity of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for the purchase of local spare parts (related to vehicles, machines), hardware items for construction work and other requested items for projects.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance Department to ensure the requested products are available in right quality and quantity at the right time to ensure smooth operations.
  • Convert the Purchase requisitions to Purchase orders within minimum set time.
  • Follow up orders and liaise with suppliers to obtain the right goods in right quantity on time.
  • Follow-up and track payments to ensure payments are released on time.
  • Preparing quotation exercises, evaluate offers from vendors, negotiate for better commercial terms and prepare approval papers.
  • Continue ethical buying practices and maintain good supplier relationships.
  • Work closely with the relevant departments to ensure products purchased are in line with the needs of the company.
  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, items supply, and quantities discounts).
  • Coordinate the department work with the Department Head and brief him regarding latest jobs carried out.
  • Maintain appropriate records to ensure that procurement process, decision and contractual agreements are accurately documented for accountability and audit purposes.
  • To assist the Department Head in achieving the overall objectives of the Department.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 8 years' or more experience in Procurement & Shipping / Logistics Management field.
  • Full or Part Professional qualification in Supply Chain & Logistics Management / Finance.
  • Degree/Master's Degree in Procurement & Shipping/Logistics Management field.
  • G.C.E(O/L) qualification with credit passes for English and Mathematics and G.C.E(A/L) qualification.
  • High level of IT literacy including sound knowledge in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, leadership skills, negotiation/problem solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills coupled with a methodical approach to work.
