We are headquartered in Melbourne as Thomas Peer Solutions, an award-winning solutions integrator offering a wide range of Data Centre, Managed, Security, and Data Protection solutions across Data Centre, Cloud, Edge, and Wireless to drive digital transformation to our clientele across Australia.
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Engineer with expertise in backup solutions, particularly Veeam, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, and will have a strong understanding of backup and recovery processes.
Position: Cloud Backup Engineer (Operating from Sri Lanka to the Australian calendar)
Key Responsibilities in the Job Role
Manage deployment, configuration, and upkeep of workloads in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
Monitor and enhance performance, availability, and security of cloud workloads, ensuring optimal operation through proactive measures.
- Collaborate with cloud architects and infrastructure teams to design scalable and resilient cloud architectures.
- Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and develop migration strategies for transitioning workloads from on-premises environments to public clouds.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing infrastructure to identify migration opportunities and potential challenges.
- Execute migration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and data integrity throughout the process.
- Utilize industry-leading tools and technologies, such as Veeam, to design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions tailored to public cloud workloads.
- Develop backup policies, schedules, and procedures to ensure data protection and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications & Attributes
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity
Azure or AWS certifications showcasing proficiency in cloud technologies.
Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or equivalent certification
Previous experience in a managed service environment is advantageous.
Expertise in cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure (VMs, blob storage, roles, regions, security groups, etc.), AWS (S3, EC2, roles, regions, security groups, etc.), and Google Cloud Platform.
Deep understanding of backup & recovery processes and requirements, with experience preferred in Veeam products.
Strong communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring efficient task delivery within agreed time frames.
