Assistant Accountant

(US Shift)

The Job

  • Perform daily accounting functions, including the recording and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations and adjusting entries
  • Maintain and reconcile various general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skill to analyze and manipulate financial data, creating reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end closing procedures.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by analyzing financial data providing input on budgetary requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of audit requests.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and streamline workflows for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in ENGLISH
  • Part qualification in CIMA/ACCA/CA.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables and data visualization tools Familiarity with accounting software QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards will be an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work during US/Canadian working hours.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
