FOUNDRY ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION
- ➤ Steer overall performance of the casting process and quality
- ➤ Be responsible for the routine maintenance, changes to existing foundry tooling and machine shop
- ➤ Maintain tooling to optimize production efficiency, ensure dimensional accuracy and minimize scrap and rework
- ➤ Generate casting and pattern quotations for potential new projects
- ➤ Actively pursue cost reduction opportunities
- ➤ Be responsible for capacity and material requirement planning
- ➤ Work with existing tooling as well as CAD design work, and being hands-on on the foundry floor
- ➤ Develop short term & long term strategy for casting production plan
- ➤ Define and coordinate with top management on strategic project
- ➤ Define performance matrixes and Key Performance Indicators with the highly changing market demands & continuously challenge the targets & improve
- ➤ Develop superior people through training & development to meet upcoming challenges
- ➤ Liaise with relevant parties to maintain compliance requirements (Environmental & Quality Assurance)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
➤ B.Sc Engineering [mechanical/production /materials] degree with 2 years relevant experience or NDT/NDES/HNDE or equivalent with 3 years' experience
➤ Proficient with CAD software preferably as AutoCAD/Solid works/ ProE, and MS office applications will be an advantage
➤ Knowledge and hands on experience on Lean and Six Sigma Tools (Continuous Improvement, Statistical Analysis, 6S, Breakthrough Strategy, Kanban, Hoshin Kanri, Kaizen)
➤ Lean or Six Sigma Green belt or above is a definite plus
➤ Knowledge on Quality Management System will be an advantage
