The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a British non-governmental organization registered as a Charity undertaking humanitarian mine action around the world. MAG is working to save lives and build futures in Sri Lanka by reducing the risk presented by remnants of conflict. MAG is seeking a motivated and competent individual to join the team as the Programme Support Officer (PSO).

The PSO is responsible for assisting the Programme Manager with donor and partner liaison, proposal development, reporting and case study development. The PSO will work closely with other departments (operations, finance, logistics and HR) to ensure the programme targets are achieved in line with the proposed outputs and will make sure the reports and proposals are delivered in a timely manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Contribute qualitative and analytical material development in reporting.
  • Assist in developing high quality funding proposals.
  • Assist in completing Action plan and progress report for compliance reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and Have information in to financial progress, funding flow, graphical, analytical information up to date require internal and external reporting purposes Ability to take meeting minutes when necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in project management, report writing ideally gained at an NGO and have a good understanding/keen interest in gender, Inclusion and diversity and environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Project development, development studies or international relations
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Experience of producing high quality donor reports and proposals
  • Analytical and data management skills
  • Competence to thrive in high pressure scenarios and complete assignments within set timelines and excellent IT skills (MS Word, word..etc)
  • Skillful in efficiently managing diverse tasks within a heavy and dynamic workload.
