Senior Manager/Manager - Internal Audit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and mitigate the risk of loss by analysing and reporting on the efficacy of the Bank's internal controls
  • Determine the effectiveness of adherence to internal guidelines/ instructions and regulatory mandates
  • Amend and enhance Audit Programs to incorporate assessments of newly introduced or revised internal procedures and regulatory changes
  • Oversee audits of branches and departments, conduct special audits, investigations, and perform tests prior to the development of systems
  • Streamline auditing processes and ensure the audit focus is amenable to ongoing enhancements
  • Supervise the adequacy and implementation of the processes and controls that underpin the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information
  • Engage with line management throughout and subsequent to audit activities to improve audit efficacy and communicate with the Head of Audit regarding completed audit/follow-up reports and other requisite reports
  • Ability to perform audits such as Treasury, Risk, and Impairment Provisioning
  • Assist the Board Audit Committee in fulfilling the goals outlined in its Charter

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree from an accredited university or affiliation with a professional body in Accounting or Banking is preferred
  • Associate Member of a reputed accounting body (CA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • A minimum of three years of Audit experience in the financial sector, however, experience in External Audit of Banks may be taken into consideration in relaxing this criterion
  • Proficiency in Audit Planning, executing risk-based audits, revising audit reports, formulating audit programs and the organization/administration of audit teams is highly sought after
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative individual who contributes to the achievement of business objectives through effective guidance on controls and risk mitigation
