GOOD SHEPHERD INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

The Good Shepherd International Foundation (GSIF) is an Italian non-profit organization established in 2008, committed to supporting the programs of the Good Shepherd Sisters for women, girls and children living in vulnerable conditions in the most impoverished areas of the world. We protect and promote the rights of people affected by poverty, human trafficking, migration, gender-based violence and other violations of human rights in more than 30 countries of Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific. GSIF is currently in search of a Project Officer and, Finance and Administration Officer, reporting to the Regional Manager - Asia Pacific.

Finance and Administration Officer - Asia Pacific

Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible to assist the countries in Asia Pacific in developing and monitoring the strategic financial plans and project budgets. The officer will also take responsibility in ensuring smooth functioning of the administrative functions of the regional office. This role also requires the ability to conduct trainings in financial planning and management. The F&A Officer will contribute to strengthen the impact of Good Shepherd Sisters' grassroots projects in poverty eradication, women empowerment and protection of vulnerable children and youth by supporting GSIF and its partners in mobilizing resources and managing grants with donors' requirements - especially in finance recording, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field is required; an advanced degree in International Development is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience, preferably with NGOs or similar organizations, in grants management, Project Cycle Management (PCM), Administration, Accounting and Finance - financial planning and management.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong computer skills particularly in spreadsheets (for budget design and monitoring) and database management are essential.
  • Knowledge of the international development and humanitarian aid sector; previous experience with faith-based organizations is preferred;
  • Knowledge, experience and familiarity on issues related to vulnerable women, girls and children - particularly on gender-based violence, unsafe migration, trafficking, prostitution, poverty, empowerment, protection, and safeguarding is required.
  • Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision; comfortable working in an environment with multiple actors from different socio-cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, presentation, and analytical skills with the ability to give attention to detail.
