Service Advisor

Service Advisors are the first point of contact at the workshop for customers and should be image builders for the service department, generating confidence and long-term value addition to the company.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Greeting customers and taking accurate and detailed inventories of vehicles
  • Consulting with mechanics regarding necessary repairs and possible alternatives
  • Using knowledge of products and services to sell or provide in-depth information about available parts and service options to customers
  • Opening jobs and recording concerns accurately, clearly, and following up with the respective line manager on the progress of each job
  • Ensuring that the job is closed and checking if all concerns have been addressed
  • Maintaining positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business
  • Ensuring all details on services rendered are invoiced to customers and processing payments
  • Liaising with service technicians about parts ordering and ensuring parts are available when needed
  • Ensuring timely delivery of the vehicle to the customer, checking performance and repair quality of the vehicle, and reminding the customer about the next service due
  • Handing over the vehicle after repair with complete documentation and obtaining a signature on the inventory

Requirements from applicants:

  • A diploma or higher qualification in Automotive Engineering
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Service Advisor / Service Consultant or related customer-focused area in an automobile environment
  • Age between 22-28 years
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, meet deadlines, and achieve sales KPIs
  • Ability to provide established standards of customer service through diagnostic services, assessment of repairs/maintenance, and quality customer care
  • Computer literacy with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications, excellent communication skills (Written/Spoken)
  • Flair for selling value-added services and accessories
  • Proactive approach when dealing with customer complaints
  • Should possess a valid driving license
  • In close proximity to Kelaniya
