Mechanical Engineer & Estimator (Pump & Engineering Solutions)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed designs and drafts for fabrication requests and engineering projects.
  • Generate 3D designs of pump skids and engineering fabrication assemblies.
  • Interpret client requests and prepare preliminary sketches, working drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare, edit, and revise plans, estimations, and drawings as necessary.
  • Estimate and quote for site services in coordination with project requirements and labor, equipment, and material needs.
  • Calculate costs and estimate time scales for project completion.
  • Assist Managers and Supervisors in project planning and scheduling to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Schedule laser cutting programs and coordinate with production teams for CNC programming and DXF files.
  • Build and maintain catalogue and inventory items to support project requirements.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and liaise effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure tasks of the drafting team are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Ensure proper control and management of intellectual property and documents related to drafting and engineering projects.
  • Complete tasks on time with attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Support day-to-day estimation and design activities with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support and mentor team members to assist the growth with the role and the company.

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Experience:
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Well spoken English
  • Ability to interpret basic drawings and sketches provided by clients.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in design and estimation
  • Experience in materials and processes for mechanical, fabrication, structural, and pipework.
  • Experience with 3D designs, CNC programming, and DXF packages is desirable. Experience in managing or leading a small team is advantageous.
