CCTV OPERATOR SECURITY

Are you super vigilant, with a proven security background, and keen observational skills? The Galle Face Hotel is looking for an experienced CCTV operator to join our security team. The selected candidate will join an elite security team as a key member responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor our closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, promptly identifying and addressing any security breaches or suspicious activities. Responsibilities
- Monitoring and Surveillance
• Operate and monitor CCTV systems to ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises, including guest areas, entrances, parking lots, and back-of-house locations.
• Continuously observe multiple screens to detect any unusual activities or security breaches.
• Utilize various camera angles and zoom features to obtain clear visuals of individuals and incidents.
- Incident Response
• Respond promptly to any alarms or alerts triggered by the CCTV systems.
• Notify appropriate authorities, such as security personnel or law enforcement, in the event of suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, or emergencies.
• Maintain composure and professionalism during high-pressure situations, providing accurate information to support swift decision-making.
- Documentation and Reporting
• Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts in detailed reports.
• Compile evidence from CCTV footage to support investigations into security incidents or policy violations.
• Collaborate with hotel management and security teams to develop strategies for enhancing security protocols based on observed trends and vulnerabilities.
- Equipment Maintenance
• Conduct regular checks of CCTV equipment to ensure proper functioning and optimal performance.
• Report any technical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate maintenance personnel for prompt resolution.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and calibration of CCTV cameras and related hardware as needed.
Education and Experience
• Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role, preferably within the hospitality industry or high-end establishments.
• Proficiency in operating CCTV systems and related monitoring equipment.
• Past military experience will be an added qualification
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills, with the ability to identify potential security threats quickly and accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective coordination with colleagues and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and protocols governing surveillance and security operations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by operational needs.
