About Us

The Royal Institute encompasses five schools under the umbrella of "Royal Institute International School" alongside a higher education division known as Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC). Additionally, it includes an online teaching platform named the Royal Institute Smart Academy (RISA), a skills development unit called the Royal Institute Centre of Skills (RICS), and a sports complex. With a rich history spanning 50 years, the Royal Institute is celebrated as a pioneer in the education sector, consistently delivering top-notch education to students.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Manager - Royal Institute Centre of Skills. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of programmes and initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and effectiveness of our staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, training, and programme management, with a passion for improving teaching and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Admissions
  • Achieve the admission targets for RICS.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and enroll qualified students.
  • Manage the admissions team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Evaluate and improve the admissions process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on admissions activities.
  • Strategic Leadership and Growth of RICS
  • Further develop existing programmes to give a high standard of education to the students.
  • Introduce new programmes based on market demands and trends.
  • Liaise with other education institutions for collaborations and partnerships.
  • Teacher Development
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive teacher development programme that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training materials and resources.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for teaching staff on various topics related to pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment, and classroom management.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in education and teacher development.
  • Administration
  • Supervise and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Royal Institute Center of Skills. Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and maintain efficient systems to support course delivery.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department.
  • Supervise the staff Members and allocate responsibilities to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage office facilities, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Liaise with external partners to ensure the integrity of Royal Institute is maintained and further collaborations are explored.
  • Examinations Supervisor and Invigilator:
  • Organize and oversee examination schedules and venues.
  • Supervise and monitor students during examinations to ensure compliance with examination regulations and guidelines.
  • Safeguard examination materials and report any irregularities observed during invigilation. Provide support to students before and during the examination process, addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Quality Assurance and Feedback:
  • Contribute to the moderation process for final course results.
  • Analyze feedback and statistical data to report on course performance annually.
  • Seek development opportunities and funding to support course improvements.
  • Additional Duties:
  • As per the requirements of the department and organization operation, taking over any additional duties and responsibilities related to successful continuance of the organization functions.
