JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Uga is a luxury boutique hotel chain with an exquisite collection of hotels consisting of Uga Ulagalla in Anuradhapura, Uga Jungle Beach in Trincomalee, Uga Bay in Passikudah, Uga Residence in Colombo, Uga Chena Huts in Yala and Uga Riva in Negombo. The Uga Experience unites the natural magic of Sri Lanka with the warmest hospitality of her people.
We are currently looking to recruit a Junior Interior Designer to join our team. The suitable applicant will have gained solid exposure of successfully delivering top-end hotels in Sri Lanka.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of all designs of the group hotels and pre-opening hotels.
- Collaborate with management to develop design concepts and strategies for interior projects.
- Assist in producing space plans, furniture layouts, and design presentations.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to design challenges, demonstrating creativity and innovation.
- Assist in selecting interior finishes, soft furniture, and equipment, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Support in reviewing drawings, mock-ups, and material samples submitted by contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Interior Design from recognized university or institution.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar capacity in the hospitality industry would be an added advantage. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Excellent command of both English and Sinhala language coupled with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are prerequisite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
