POST OF ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER
The Wheel Works (Pvt) Ltd is an Export oriented manufacturing company located in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone.
The company seeks the services of an experienced dynamic person to fill the above vacancy. The selected candidate should demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in a manufacturing industry and take on related production responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all products are manufactured as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions.
- Ensuring the production targets for the plant are met as per the specified customer standards with the production plan.
- Coordinate and support the planning and scheduling of production to meet targets.
- Manage workforce ensuring SOP compliance to gain productivity and performance goals.
- Be methodical and prioritize production work under demanding circumstances.
- Be accountable for performance and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of production lines. Coordinate with engineering team to achieve desired plant OEE.
- Prepare and submit management information reports related to Production KPIs.
- Craft strategies to minimize waste and inefficiencies.
- Ensuring the quality of the products are in standard level.
Successful candidate ideally have:
- A university degree or equivalent in Production/ Manufacturing or Engineering field.
- Preferably with Experience of Mechanical & Production Engineering in the Rubber/Plastic Industry. Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in similar capacity.
- Be dynamic, proactive and ability to perform under pressure.
- Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and change.
- Possess a technical and organized mind with attention to detail.
- Competency in IT Application Technology (MS Office and Data analysis and reporting).
- Good communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process on sophisticated Rubber & Plastic products will be an added advantage.
