MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Wayamba Diagnostic Medical Laboratory - Kurunegala is seeking for Medical Laboratory Technicians for the head office located in 120, Colombo Road, Kurunegala.
OBJECTIVE
To perform laboratory analysis on patient samples to make a correct diagnosis, accurately & timely with correct interpretation and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow the WDML's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting & maintaining records of test examinations.
- Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument & procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Follow the WDML's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable level of performance.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results either must correct the problems or immediately notify the immediate supervisor.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the WDML's established performance specifications.
- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
REQUIREMENT
- Residents in close proximity to Kurunegala preferred, but not limited. Candidates consider relocating may also apply.
- MLS Graduates and IChemC Diploma Holders are welcome.
- SLMC Registration is a definite advantage.
- Exceptional Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of English and Sinhala is essential & ability to communicate in Tamil will be a definite advantage.
- Strong team spirit with resolving issues and conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in working collaboratively managing relations effectively.
- Maintain safe and clean environment with good discipline.
- Sharing knowledge with the trainee MLTS for their improvements.
- Perform test according to laboratory procedure and guidelines & test results are correctly and legibly entered on the patient report forms and laboratory records.
