EXECUTIVE - PROCUREMENT (Import) (Location - Panadura)

We are looking for a skilled procurement professional with a passion for international trade and import activities. Join our dynamic team at Ethimale (Pvt) Ltd, a leading sugar manufacturing company, as an Executive - Procurement (Import). We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to manage our import procurement operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality materials essential for our production processes.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Procurement methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of methods of analyzing suppliers and material sources.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, specifically in import operations, preferably within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
- Strong 'hands-on' people management, team building, leadership, and coaching skills.
- Ability to build very positive and close client working relationships.
- Ability to understand and interpret data and good attention to detail.
- Excellent computer literacy (proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Overseeing the entire import procurement process from supplier selection to delivery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with international suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and favorable terms.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, negotiation, and efficient logistics management.
- Conducting market research to stay informed about global market trends, pricing, and availability of raw materials.
- Ensuring all import documentation is accurate and complete, including customs clearance, shipping, and insurance documents.
- Working closely with internal teams such as production, quality control, and finance to align procurement activities with business needs and goals.
- Preparing regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market conditions to support decision-making.
