  • Center Manager/Coordinator - Jaffna
  • MJF Rainbow Centre

The Centre Manager MJF Rainbow Centre, Jaffna will be responsible for the conformity of systems, processes and staffing of the Centre and the effective implementation of all programmes and activities for children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and other Developmental Disorders. Furthermore, s/he will coordinate with Education and Social Services Departments to enable students for enrollment to schools. S/he will also be responsible for the Centre's general administration in terms of staff, reporting, communication, security, students transport and finances and coordination with MJFCF Head Office.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Strong understanding of children with disabilities, their parents and the ability to assess each child and plan their developmental needs and process
  • A dedicated team player with strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communicator in both English / Sinhala and Tamil and a good listener
  • High level of Honesty and Integrity
  • Authentic and Humane
  • Diploma in Special Education and M. Sc or B. Sc in Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy
  • At least 4-5 years working in a Government/ Non-Government or Special Education/Disability care centre at a Managerial level

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the set up and effective implementation of relevant programmes as planned annually exclusively for children with disabilities including Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other Development Disorders, based on assessments of Children's disabilities
  • Represent the Centre MJFCF at key Government, NGO/INGO or Private Sector events and establish cordial and mutually benefiting partnerships and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Establish efficient systems and controls aimed at monitoring the effective implementation of programmes Motivate and manage staff ensuring efficient distribution of human resources, retention, performance assessments and consistent monitoring and evaluation of centre outcomes
  • Inculcate an environment of learning and continuous improvement and innovation into all aspects of centre operations Lead, plan and effective delivery of all day to day programmes which will include, educational and vocational education and therapy and special events in accordance with the MJFCF Strategy and mandate Manage effective information flow between the Centre, parents, Head office and MJFCF Core Team Maintain up to date records of Students assessments, performance and progress and share same with parents, staff and MJFCF and adopt constant avenues and methods for improvements of the students
