Finance and Administrative Officer - Sri Lanka (June 2024)

This is an exciting time to be joining WFD, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to support the development of our programme in Sri Lanka.

Location: Sri Lanka based with the option for remote working.

Closing Date - 20/06/2024

Department - Programmes

Salary - Monthly Gross Salary GBP 685-731 (LKR 256,875 - 274,124 approximately)

City - Colombo

Finance and Administrative Officer

The Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) will play a critical role in assisting WFD's programme in Sri Lanka to meet its objectives by ensuring an accountable and accurate approach to the handling of programme finances.

This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient management of financial procedures, developing financial reports and for ensuring excellent communication on, and co-ordination of, important financial information such as forecasts and expenditures with stakeholders-in-country donor representatives and WFD colleagues in London and abroad.

In addition, the FAO will be expected to provide some logistical and administrative support to this small team for the delivery of programme activities.

About You.

We are looking for an FAO who enjoys working on a variety of tasks, is flexible and who possess good time management and prioritisation skills. The core skills and experience we are looking for:

  • First degree or similar, in a relevant discipline for e.g., degree in finance and accountancy; business studies
  • Experience of, and excellent abilities in, accountancy and financial administration including management of cash flows, balance sheets, budgets (planning, monitoring, and reporting)
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role (finance or accounting), in a similar type of organization (preferably an International Organization or International Non-Governmental Organization)
  • High levels of proficiency in Excel and experience of using accounting packages e.g., SAGE, Business Central
  • Knowledge of project management in a good governance context and how to integrate good financial management into good project management
  • Experience of procurement
  • Experience in office management and logistical support
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a changing environment

This role is a Sri Lankan based role; therefore, applicants must be eligible to work in Sri Lanka.
