CREATIVE DIRECTOR

  • Lead the creative efforts and develop overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
  • Act as an advocate and committed mentor for Studio's next generation of talent; build Studio's talent pipeline through recruiting and outreach with local design communities and universities
  • Provide creative direction to design teams
  • Pitch ideas confidently and present their creative vision clearly to clients, as well as communicate in the same manner to members of their creative team
  • Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Studio
  • Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
  • Champion Studio's diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultants
  • Act as a primary design interface with clients and consultants
  • Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
  • Awareness and interest in global design trends
  • Participate in client development, marketing and project interview efforts
  • Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
  • Select interior finishes, furniture and equipment
  • Produce space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation
  • Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives
  • Oversee and curate project photography
  • Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industry leader in Hospitality, Retail & Residential Interior Design
  • Must have a strong project portfolio, preferably in Hospitality interiors projects (all aspects, including: guest rooms, public areas, food and beverage, etc.) with 15+ years of professional interior design and/or architecture experience
  • Possess uncommon design talent, a personal brand and a clear point of view
  • Fearless integrator and advocate for diverse points of view and expansive thinking
  • Ability to define a project's creative foundation through storytelling, and merge the goals and strategy with a clear conceptual vision Passionate advocate for our clients, ensuring that the design vision exceeds goals and expectations
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with existing and new clients
  • Strong in all phases of design, concept design through construction documents, construction administration and FF&E procurement Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in design visualization
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of interior design or architecture
