Company Brief
Gaia Greenenergy Holdings is a Sri Lankan renewable energy development company that is working with local stakeholders and international partners on innovative solutions to implement large-scale renewable energy projects including rooftop solar PV, ground mounted PV, floating solar plants, and pumped storage solutions.

Job Role
- Subsequent to the site survey, the draughtsman will prepare all technical drawings (to correct scale) and detailed documentation/plans for internal utilization and to submit for authority approvals. The incumbent should also be knowledgeable about practical electrical engineering in solar.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create technical drawings in line with specification required for:
- Solar and electrical design
- Single Line Diagram (SLD), Layouts
- Photovoltaic (PV) plant design and PV array sizing and optimization
- Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
- Calculate: Electrical Cable Sizing and Materials requirements
- Visit, inspect sites and communicate with the field engineering team to incorporate any technical requirements. Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team
- Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations.
- Identifying and communicating potential design problems (if any) to the rest of the team
- Managing the execution of PV plant design Layouts in AutoCAD
Experience
- Electrical drafting experience in Solar/Renewable energy sector
- Hands-on experience with Solar and electrical design
- Should have practical experience in handling Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) in drawing solar site plans. Experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge in Low Voltage (LV) designing software.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in the soar industry
Expectations from the candidate
- Travel across the country to all sites owned by the organisation
- Coordinate with the field, operation team members and back-office design team.
- Maintain accurate designs.
- Be independent in dealing with the rest of the stakeholders in taking any corrective action.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Diploma or a recognized certificate in Electrical Engineering
- Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, MS office
