Job Description

  • Post: Legal Executive - Company Secretarial
  • Company: Secretarial Department of a reputed and well-known Insurance Company in Sri Lanka
  • Mode of recruitment: Contract basis
  • Functions: The main function will be to assist the Company Secretary in all her duties and functions (Please find the Job description in detail below)

Criteria of Eligibility:

  • A Law Undergraduate with a Degree from a recognized local or foreign university or An Attorney-at-Law or A Law student pending Attorney-at-Law Final Year Examination results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both in Sinhala and English.
  • Proficiency in computer literate.
  • Enthusiastic, self-driven and should process the ability to perform under minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge in Company Law/Commercial law.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and finalize the minutes, resolutions and other legal documents.
  • To Liaise with officials of the company to obtain necessary information and documents.
  • To handle Member and Shareholder relations and enquiries.
  • To submit relevant forms, returns at the relevant Government authorities and Institutions.
  • To maintain and update statutory registers and other registers of the department.
  • To visit the Registrar General's Office and other government Institutions as and when required.
  • To liaise with the Trade Mark Registry with regard to its functions.
  • To represent the Company Secretary at statutory, other meetings at Government Institutions and internal meetings as and when required.
  • To assist in creating and managing company secretariat monitoring tools, charters, manuals, processes, procedure and systems.
  • To carry out the departmental administrative duties.
  • Age preferably below 35 years
