ASSISTANT MANAGER - MERCHANDISING

(LOCATION: ATHURUGIRIYA)

Responsibility

  • Identify current/ seasonal/ future market needs/ trends, whilst supporting in increasing/ promoting new product portfolios for Customers in order to maximize attractiveness and beneficial returns to the organization
  • Study on industry trends/changes; and support in the identification of potential market development/ opportunities which include entering to new market segments, developing new Customers for the product.
  • Monitor and follow-up on the merchandising process from sample development to the delivery of finished goods in order to ensure all development related issues are addressed in an effective and timely manner whilst, liaising with the Head of Business Development in addressing the same as and when needed.
  • Coordinate with Technical teams to ensure developments are carried out as per Customer requirements, providing advice and guidance when needed whilst, supporting the commercialization of same.
  • Support in providing a value-added Customer service by analyzing market trends and assist in product development to suit future market requirements thereby, ensuring continuous in-flow of orders from existing Customers fulfilling plant capacity whilst, supporting Customers on emerging developments.
  • Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/ Professional Qualification in a relevant field
  • Qualifications in Merchandising/ Marketing/ Finance - Advantageous
  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience at a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of Developments, Fabric, Embellishments, Styles and Samples
  • Strong Analytical, Negotiation and Communication skills
