Chartered Civil Engineer - Building Construction
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception to completion
- Prepare and review engineering designs, plans, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
- Coordinate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and budgets
- Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation
- Think creatively and provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges
- Demonstrate excellent communication and project management skills
- Lead teams effectively, ensuring high levels of attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IESL)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in building construction and project management
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project)
- Ability to think out of the box and bring creative solutions to problems
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
