Job Description:
- Conduct cost estimates for construction projects such as materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine accurate cost projections.
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets.
- Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and report on budgetary performance.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labor required for construction projects. Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate quantity assessments.
- Review and analyze contracts, identifying key financial and contractual requirements.
- Advise on potential risks and opportunities related to project contracts.
- Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Collaborate with project managers to address cost-related issues promptly.
- Vendor and Supplier negotiation to secure favorable terms and pricing for materials and services.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers to optimize procurement processes.
- Retain accurate and up-to-date project cost documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on cost-related aspects of ongoing projects.
- Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their impact on project costs.
- Communicate changes in project scope to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks related to project costs and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project teams to address and minimize financial risks.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on cost-related aspects.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in quantity surveying or a similar role.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
