Job Title: Partnerships and Capacity Building Manager

Reports To: Chief of Party

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

JOB SUMMARY

The Partnerships and Capacity Building Manager will provide support to implement capacity building strategies for the partners by being responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating all internal and external partnership related capacity building and processes.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain positive relationships with a range of partners including government stakeholders and work with them to identify capacity development needs.
  • Regularly meet with partners to get feedback on capacity and organizational development and based on this, coordinate with key internal actors, Technical Director and MECLA team to design, revise and implement a capacity building and organizational development strategy tailored to different partners.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement for long-term resilience building with partners including government and private sector.
  • Support and facilitate communication and coordination among partners and all stakeholders.
  • Act as the focal point for the Social Cohesion Activity's partnership management.
  • Provide necessary support to the Capacity Building specialist, whom will be directly reporting to this position, to formalize and develop project-related operational tools and training modules.
  • Guide the Capacity Development Specialist to conduct coaching and capacity building training sessions as and when required to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and collaborative initiatives among partner organizations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the work plan for the assigned area, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of results.
  • Maintain awareness of current social and political trends and conduct analysis to understand their impact on programs perform by the activity and provide timely information.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience and knowledge in partner management, basic compliance requirements, donor specificities, project cycle management, proposal development, and reporting.
  • Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to relevant stakeholders.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good planning and time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Resolution or any other related field.

5-7 years' experience in capacity building and partnership management including working with local partners and government.

Experience in working with USAID funded projects will be a plus.
