WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
SHORT TERM - CZECH CHEF
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa's culture and service standards and reflects the values of Velaa Private Island.
- Knowledge of traditional Czech cooking techniques and presentation styles and proven track record in authentic Czech dishes.
- Ability to create and adapt menus incorporating seasonal and locally available produce while preserving authentic Czech flavors, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation, and consistently delighting our guests.
- Skilled in meat preparation (beef, pork, game), traditional sauces, dumplings, and baked goods.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create themed events, tasting menus, and special promotions showcasing Czech cuisine.
- Perform any other related duties and special projects as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chef specializing in Czech cuisine at a 5-star resort/hotel.
- Must be available from 1st December 2026 - 30th April 2027.
- Professional certification in culinary arts, specialized training in Central European/Czech cuisine is an advantage.
- Knowledge to create elegantly designed offerings for high-profile guests.
- Experience in Maldives or with living in remote locations will be a plus.
- Good command of written & spoken English.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills & confident to anticipate and manage processes.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to remote living conditions.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
