EXECUTIVE – GRAPHIC DESIGNER

WORK BASE: SLIIT NORTHERN UNI – JAFFNA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME | PERMANENT

INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE:

SLIIT – Northern Uni is seeking a creative, dynamic, and passionate Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong creative mindset and a passion for visual communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing compelling digital and print materials, supporting branding and marketing initiatives, maintaining brand consistency across all communication channels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop creative campaigns that enhance the institution's reputation, student engagement, and overall brand presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop creative and visually appealing designs for digital platforms (e.g., websites, social media, web banners, email campaigns, company profiles, newsletters, and internal communications) and print materials (e.g., brochures, posters, flyers, packaging, and other branding collateral), ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
  • Experience in using video editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects.
  • Modify existing designs and templates to fit various formats and distribution channels.
  • Translate brand elements such as logos, colours, typography, imagery styles, and design systems into well-organised, user-friendly layouts.
  • Ability to generate AI videos and demonstrate proficiency in prompt engineering using tools such as Sora, Grok, HeyGen, or similar AI platforms.
  • Create and edit engaging videos to promote the institution’s brand, programmes, and services, supporting video marketing and content creation initiatives such as social media reels, promotional videos, demonstrations, informational videos, podcasts, advertisements, and other multimedia content.
  • Ensure that all designs are consistent with the company-approved Brand Guidelines and maintaining accuracy and consistency across all brand assets and applications.
  • Support the rollout of branding across internal and external platforms when required.
  • Work closely with other clusters/service units to obtain the briefs and information required for newsletters, company profiles, and website updates.
  • Update the websites, and company profiles as and when required with the guideline of the management.
  • Hands-on experience in photography and videography will be added advantage.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities or tasks as delegated or assigned by the management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Develop creative and visually appealing designs for digital platforms (e.g., websites, social media, web banners, email).
  • Degree or Higher Diploma or any recognized qualification in Designing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Creative Designer, Graphic Designer, or in a related design role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative and visual communication skills, will be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Adobe Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of other design and presentation tools such as Canva, Figma, or similar platforms will be an advantage.
  • Experience in using AI and Digital Design Tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI platforms.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a strong eye for detail and composition.
  • Ability to interpret briefs and turn ideas into impactful visuals.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
