Sanasa Life Insurance Company PLC invites applications from accomplished, visionary and integrity-driven leaders to undertake the role of Chief Executive Officer / Principal Officer. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure regulatory compliance and uphold sound governance while driving sustainable growth and delivering long-term value to policyholders, shareholders and the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and execute the Company’s vision, mission and long-term business strategy.
- Drive sustainable business growth, profitability and market competitiveness across all segments.
- Ensure full compliance with the Insurance Industry Act, No. 43 of 2000 and all applicable regulations, directives and guidelines issued by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) and other regulatory bodies including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
- Lead the executive management team to achieve corporate objectives and operational excellence.
- Promote sound corporate governance, risk management and ethical business practices.
- Ensure effective financial management, capital adequacy, solvency and statutory reporting requirements.
- Champion innovation, digital transformation and customer-centric initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance culture through leadership, talent development and succession planning.
- Monitor and review business performance, key metrics, policyholder outcomes and emerging risks; drive corrective actions to achieve strategic goals.
- Promote ethical conduct, integrity and a strong risk culture throughout the organization.
Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Law, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
- A recognized professional qualification in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Marketing.
- A minimum of 15 years’ senior management experience, including at least 8 years in an executive leadership position within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Thorough understanding of the Insurance Industry Act, regulatory framework, governance requirements and prudent practices for a licensed insurer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Sri Lanka’s insurance regulatory framework, enterprise risk management, financial management, life insurance sales and marketing.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategies to grow business and enhance value for all stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and decision-making skills with high integrity.
- A strong change leader with the ability to inspire teams, drive performance and deliver sustainable results.
Fit and Proper Criteria
The selected candidate must satisfy the "Fit and Proper" criteria prescribed by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) Direction No. 07 of 2026 for the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer / Principal Officer of a licensed insurance company.
