Zambia, Rwanda & Nigeria
The Head of Finance will lead the full finance function for the assigned country operation in Zambia, Rwanda, or Nigeria, covering strategy, reporting, planning, treasury, taxation, compliance, audit, and controls. The role will strengthen governance, support sustainable growth, and ensure alignment with Group financial standards.
THE ROLE
- Lead the country finance function, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across all financial activities.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support business objectives and long-term growth.
- Oversee financial reporting, management accounting, and variance analysis in line with applicable accounting standards and Group reporting requirements.
- Maintain timely account and bank reconciliations to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
- Manage annual budgeting and forecasting, ensuring targets are supported by realistic financial plans.
- Manage liquidity, cash flow, banking relationships, working capital, and funding requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions to ensure timely, accurate compliance reporting.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory audits in close coordination with external auditors.
- Ensure statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance and implement internal audit recommendations.
- Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Lead and develop the finance team, strengthening capability, leadership depth, and succession readiness.
- Provide financial insight and decision support for strategic initiatives, investments, and expansion.
IDEAL CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Strong experience in reporting, planning, taxation, treasury, compliance, and financial controls; banking exposure is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Internal or external audit experience with a strong financial-controls background is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Work Location: Zambia, Rwanda, or Nigeria (on-site, with accommodation and local support provided). A competitive market-aligned remuneration package, return air ticket, and living allowance will be provided.
