CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (AUS CALENDAR - AUS SHIFT)

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded CFO to join our growing finance team and support Australian businesses from Sri Lanka, offering strategic exposure and career acceleration. You will act as a trusted finance partner to Australian business owners, CEOs, and senior management teams, providing strategic financial insight, performance management, and decision support.

The Job:

  • Act as a trusted outsourced CFO for Australian SME and mid-market clients, providing strategic financial guidance.
  • Lead monthly financial performance and business reviews, presenting key insights, trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare management accounts, CFO reporting packs, budgets, forecasts and financial models to support business decisions.
  • Manage rolling cash-flow forecasts, analysing revenue, margins, EBITDA and working capital.
  • Drive profitability and cost optimisation by identifying performance improvement opportunities.
  • Provide commercial insights on pricing, investment, expansion and other strategic decisions.
  • Develop financial dashboards and management reports using Excel and Power BI.
  • Review financial processes, controls and accounting outputs to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor offshore finance teams, ensuring high-quality and timely client service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement across clients’ finance functions, enhancing efficiency, controls and overall value.

Requirements:

  • CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A or commercial finance.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis, financial management and commercial finance.
  • Proven experience working with Australian businesses or within an Australian accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounts and business performance analysis.
  • Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated presentation, stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to confidently engage with CEOs, business owners and senior executives, providing clear financial insights and recommendations.
