Group Finance Manager
Remote · Independent contractor · Full time
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven finance professional to build and run the group's finance function, manage multi-jurisdiction compliance and reporting, and maintain accurate financial records across all entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the obligations calendar across all entities, brief and oversee external accountants who handle in country filing
- Manage relationships with external accountants and advisers brief, review, negotiate fees, replace underperformers
- Build the accounting stack, chart of accounts, and a monthly management reporting pack by business line
- Open and maintain multi-jurisdiction banking relationships, survive compliance reviews
- Run a backlog of asset disposals and administrative wind-downs across several countries
- Drive down finance & admin costs, maintain contract tracking, counterparty documentation, and source-of-funds discipline
Requirements
- Sole finance person, head, or #2 in an in-house finance team of six or fewer hands-on experience running the whole function
- Small-company background (a career only inside large organisations will not translate)
- 5–10 years post-degree finance experience across more than one entity and tax regime
- Strong commercial judgement, autonomy, and a track record of pushing counterparties to resolution
- Precise written English most work happens in writing across time zones
- Genuine daily fluency with AI and automation tools
- Qualification welcome but not required (CIMA, ACCA, CMA rate highest); legal education an advantage

Terms
- Independent contractor, full-time; invoice monthly and handle your own tax
- Permanently remote with daily overlap with European working hours; no relocation
- Fee benchmarked to your country and set above local market for the right person
- Milestone bonuses for defined completions (entities incorporated, filings backlog cleared, reporting live, disposals closed, costs cut)
