SAMPLE ROOM SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Independently cut garment samples according to patterns, measurements, and specifications.
- Develop and sew complete garment prototypes based on tech packs, sketches, and designer instructions.
- Handle new styles and convert sample requirements into production-ready garments.
- Make quick adjustments, alterations, and re-stitching as requested by the sample coordinator or designer.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of new styles to mass production with proper construction and finish.
- Operate, set, and adjust different types of sewing machines according to fabric and style requirements.
- Ensure accurate stitching, measurements, construction, and overall quality of samples.
- Identify and rectify sewing, construction, and fitting issues during sample development.
- Work closely with relevant teams to make necessary adjustments and improvements to samples.
- Complete samples within required timelines while maintaining quality standards.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 2 to 3 Years Previous experience as a Sample Room Sewing Machine Operator or in a Sample Room environment.
- Proficient with industrial Single Needle, Overlock, and Flatlock machines.
- Ability to read and understand tech packs, technical specifications, measurements, and construction details.
- Good knowledge of garment construction, sewing methods, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to independently set, adjust, and operate sewing machines.
- Knowledge of machine settings including stitch length, thread tension, presser foot, needle selection, and other relevant adjustments.
- Ability to work with different types of fabrics and garment styles.
- Ability to understand patterns and garment construction details.
