Located directly on Pehembiya Beach in Hirikiitya, Malkoha Specialty Cafe and Bar is committed to setting a new standard for hospitality in Sri Lanka. We are a progressive, quality-driven restaurant built around exceptional food, outstanding service and a genuine passion for the industry.

We are currently expanding our kitchen team and are looking for motivated, passionate and hardworking individuals to join us at Malkoha Specialty Cafe & Bar.

We are currently recruiting for:

• Head Chef
• Line Cooks
• Commis Chefs
• Kitchen Hands

We are looking for people who take pride in their work, have a strong work ethic and are passionate about working in a busy hospitality environment.

Head Chef

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen team, maintaining food quality and consistency, managing kitchen operations, developing dishes and ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen position
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Good command of English
• Ability to manage a busy kitchen and lead a team
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
• Passion for quality food and hospitality

Line Cooks & Commis Chefs

We are looking for enthusiastic cooks to join our kitchen team. Previous professional kitchen experience is preferred, but we are also open to hardworking individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills.

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Kitchen Hands

We are also looking for reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hands to support the kitchen team with food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning and general kitchen duties.

Requirements:

• Hardworking and reliable
• Good attention to cleanliness
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not essential
