We're Hiring Agronomist
Welimada, Sri Lanka | Full-Time
Ceylon Green Flavours is seeking a motivated, hands-on Agronomist (Greenhouse) to join our growing agricultural operation in the Welimada area. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day greenhouse crop production, ensuring optimal plant health, yield, and quality while supervising field staff. We are looking for a proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset to help scale up daily operations.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in greenhouse cultivation, open-field farming experience is added advantage
- Prior experience with crops such as Gherkins, Tomato, Bell Pepper, Capsicum, Chilies. Floriculture experience would be an advantage
- Qualification: HND or BSc in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (required). Part-time BSc undergraduates would be considered
- Basic English communication and computer skills
- Preferably based around Welimada, Keppetipola, or Bandarawela

- Hands-on, practical approach to Crop Management

- Good communication skills
- Documentation and record-keeping ability
- Effective time management
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse teams
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily greenhouse operations including planting, irrigation, fertigation, and pest/disease management
- Monitor crop growth, EC/pH levels, and environmental conditions
- Supervise and coordinate field and greenhouse workers
- Maintain accurate crop and production records, and report regularly on production performance
- Ensure adherence to quality and yield targets
- Recommend and implement improvements to cultivation practices
- Operate climate control systems to maintain optimal greenhouse conditions
