IMPORT / EXPORT EXECUTIVE
Ceylon Steel Corporation Ltd., under the brand name "LANWA Sanstha Wane", the pioneer in the steel manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka, is today the undisputed market leader with cutting-edge technology and leading steel solutions for the construction industry.
The company, in its present expansion programmes, is looking for team-spirited, result-oriented individuals with passion and dynamism to fill the following vacancy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain and process import approvals, licenses, and other regulatory clearances
- Follow up on and manage import-related payables and receivables
- Coordinate with foreign suppliers, clearing agents, and shipping/freight companies to ensure smooth shipment flow
- Track shipment status and follow up on customs clearance to avoid delays
- Prepare, handle, and maintain all import documentation (Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, invoices, packing lists, import permits, etc.)
- Liaise with Sri Lanka Customs and relevant regulatory bodies as required
- Coordinate with internal Finance and Stores departments on stock receipt and payment processing
- Maintain accurate supplier and shipment records
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in import/export operations
- Sound knowledge of supply chain, material management, and logistics
- Familiarity with import documentation, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Good negotiation, coordination, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and/or relevant ERP systems
- A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is an advantage
