BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - PET CARE

ICL Brands (Private) Limited is a leading player in the consumer goods company industry in Sri Lanka. ICL handles both proprietary and 3rd party brands. The portfolio includes Feminine Hygiene, Grooming, Personal Hygiene, Packaged food, among others. ICL is the market leader in most of the categories it operates in.

THE ROLE

As Business Development Manager - Pet Care, you will have full ownership of the commercial performance of assigned pet care categories. You will drive sustainable and profitable growth through strategic planning, strong sales leadership, effective principal collaboration, and disciplined execution across markets. This is a pivotal leadership role, focused on expanding distribution, strengthening profitability, and building long-term brand and customer partnerships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and execute strategic business plans to accelerate sales growth and market expansion
• Deliver primary and secondary sales targets across assigned product categories
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage Area Sales Managers to consistently achieve KPIs
• Expand distribution and strengthen market coverage across key territories
• Work closely with principals on pricing strategies, promotions, marketing initiatives, and new product launches
• Plan and execute trade marketing and activation programs to enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement
• Drive profitability through effective margin management and cost discipline
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify new growth opportunities
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for management review

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Professional qualification in Sales or Marketing (Degree or Diploma)
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Sales and/or Marketing, including senior leadership roles
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate high-performing sales teams
• Strong results orientation with high levels of discipline, ownership, and accountability
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic mindset combined with a strong hands-on execution focus
