Accounting / Auditing / Finance

About the Employer

Job Description

Banking & cash

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations across all operating accounts and relationship banks — and help us automate the process rather than just repeat it.
  • Review bank charges and interest and post the related accounting entries.
  • Monitor foreign-currency balances, post month-end exchange gain/(loss) revaluation entries and maintain the related control account.
  • Act as finance's point of contact for bank mandates, account administration and standing documentation.

General ledger & month-end close

  • Post monthly payroll entries including PAYE, EPF, ETF and other statutory liabilities, and reconcile the related control accounts.
  • Account for prepayments and accruals to support a timely close.
  • Investigate and clear suspense, unallocated and location-level control accounts — including goods-received-not-invoiced.
  • Keep the general ledger accurate and current, and prepare the GL schedules that feed the final accounts.

Statutory & tax compliance

  • File all tax returns on time.
  • Prepare month-end schedules for VAT (including the VAT control account), SSCL and WHT — payable and receivable.
  • Maintain TEIP/TIEP and other import/export incentive and exemption scheme control accounts, working with Supply Chain and the Accountant.
  • Maintain proper filing and record-keeping for audit and future reference.

Fixed assets & capital projects

  • Pass depreciation entries and keep PPE schedules current across all asset classes — land, buildings, boats & engines, cages & nets, plant & machinery, motor vehicles, IT equipment, furniture & fittings, tools and intangibles.
  • Maintain the capital work-in-progress schedule for site, cage, hatchery and infrastructure projects, and ensure timely capitalization on completion with the project and engineering teams.
  • Track and reconcile insurance receivables relating to fixed assets and other insured risks.

And also

  • Follow up on IOUs, advances and reimbursements, and monitor the related accounts.
  • Support the Accountant and Management with other finance work as required.
