Human Resources Assistant (MBC)

The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants to serve as the Human Resources Assistant (MBC) in the Human Resources Office.

nn

This position is responsible for managing the Locally Employed (LE) Staff Performance Management Program under the Merit Based Compensation (MBC) system. The incumbent serves as the mission's primary expert on employee performance management, maintains personnel records, and prepares reports related to this function.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week.

nn

The monthly gross salary for this position will be Rs. 261,110.91

Qualifications Required:

nn
    n
  • 1. Education - Completion of two years of general college studies is required [Completion of two year post-secondary education (G.C.E. A/L) College/University Studies is required] (Candidate must attach relevant educational certificates).
  • n
  • 2. Prior Work Experience - A minimum of three (3) years of experience in handling/managing employees’ Performance management or closely related Human Resources experience is required (Candidate must attach copies of relevant service/work experience certificates).
  • n
  • 3. Language Proficiency - Good working knowledge of speaking, reading & writing in English is required (This will be tested). Good working knowledge of speaking, reading & writing in Sinhala or Tamil is required.
  • n
  • 4. Job Knowledge - Good knowledge of the assigned human resources functions. Must have knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures in performance management. Good working knowledge of local labor and social security laws as well as prevailing practices and customs, is required.

  • 5. Skills & Abilities -n
      n
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Internet).
    • n
    • Ability to understand and use complex mathematical formulas to prepare statistical and analytical reports on various elements of data analysis.
    • n
    • Strong writing skills to produce and update complex reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
    • n
    • Training, presentation, briefing, and negotiation skills are required.
    • n
    • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts.
    • n
    • Must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure.
    • n
    • Good leadership and interpersonal skills are required.
    • n
